Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 17, 2026

CourtTime ("we," "us," or "our") operates the CourtTime web application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information You Provide: When you create an account, we collect your phone number, first name, and optionally your skill level. When you join a group or create a session, we collect the session details you provide (date, time, location, format).

Availability Data: If you use the availability feature, we collect your preferred playing times, preferred locations, and format preferences (singles/doubles).

Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, and session participation history.

Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system, browser type, and IP address for analytics and security purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain, and improve the Service; verify your identity via SMS one-time passcodes; match you with hitting partners based on availability overlap; send you transactional notifications about sessions you have joined or been invited to (e.g., session reminders, cancellations, open spots); display your name and profile to other members of groups you belong to; and analyze usage patterns to improve the Service.

3. SMS Messaging

By providing your phone number and creating an account, you consent to receive SMS messages from CourtTime. These messages include: verification codes for account login, session reminders and updates, notifications when a session matching your availability is created, and invitations from other users.

Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of non-essential SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message or by adjusting your notification preferences in your account settings. Opting out of non-essential notifications will not affect verification code messages required for login.

4. How We Share Your Information

With Group Members: Your first name, profile photo (if provided), and session participation are visible to members of groups you belong to. Your phone number is never shared with other users.

With Service Providers: We share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Service, including Supabase (database and authentication hosting), Twilio (SMS delivery), and Vercel (application hosting). These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to provide services to us.

As Required by Law: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers provided by Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption for data at rest and in transit. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted database connections, row-level security policies, and rate-limited authentication endpoints.

While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your account and associated data; opt out of non-essential SMS notifications; and export your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at andrewahadad@gmail.com .

8. California Residents

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
